GAM has been supporting member interest in artificial intelligence and other innovation-related technology issues during the Association’s continued transformation. Expert presenters have spoken at GAM conferences and we hosted a well-attended tour to the Smart Factory Institute earlier in the year.

But members have told us they want more. In response, GAM is establishing a member-led and directed Council to provide even more focus on artificial intelligence and related topics.

Dubbed the “Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Council” (AI/I), this forum will serve several purposes including:

Informing GAM members of technologies, AI issues and trends impacting or having the potential to impact their operations, including potential risks and opportunities.

Developing recommendations on how to help GAM members optimize digital technologies and prepare for transformative technological developments to maximize member competitiveness and competence in the technology, AI and innovation area.

Facilitating strategic partnerships with other manufacturing-supportive parties, including but not limited to educational institutions and other non-profit organizations with common interests in technology and AI issues.

Conducting meetings, in person and virtual, throughout the year to keep members informed, to address relevant and timely issues and trends, and to promote social engagement.

Conducting and compiling research to support opinions on AI issues and inform related GAM policy.

This Council will be the only one in the state that looks at AI through the lens of the manufacturer. Please join us!
